Volunteer Skills Development Program
No event impacts an individual and/or family member as dramatically as an acquired brain injury. Instantly, a person's personality, abilities and capabilities, hopes and dreams, which have been held dear for a lifetime, are changed forever. When family members are involved they must almost immediately undertake the impossible tasks of becoming medical, legal and rehabilitation experts so that they can make critical choices and decisions about their loved one's care. The Society develops Support Groups in direct response to the needs of the people we serve. NBIS provides a variety of support group options that include but are not limited to:
Women's Craft Group
- Self-Esteem Group
- Trauma and Recovery Group
- Leisure Group
- Family and Caregiver Group
- Renewing Pathways Group
Grief and Loss Group
- Understanding Brain Injury
- Emotional Management Group
